I’ve spent 25 years helping high‑achievers across three continents stop talking about change and actually live it. My favorite part? Watching people find work so irresistibly aligned with who they are, they can’t help but make ripples—professionally and personally.
Whether I'm launching a new season of Katy Hansell: The Impact Whisperer” (™), coaching a high‑impact leader, or guiding clients through pivoting careers with clarity and confidence—it all comes down to one thing: helping you ignite your energy and make the impact you actually care about.
Process, Tools, and Support
I created this business because I know firsthand what it feels like to be living the wrong life. When I went to finally change things up, I realized how difficult a transformational change can be. I knew that incremental tweaks were not going to get the job done so I reached out and asked for help (hard to do!) and was fortunate to have resources and people who helped me.
As I discovered personally, big change can only happen when you have a proven process, tools, and a support system committed to your change alongside you.
I dedicated my career to building a proven process, tools, and a support system to help other people make it through to the other side of the big change they are after.
It’s Time For You to Make Waves
I’m a proud mother of three adult sons (Charlie, Malcolm, Robert) and three rescue cats (Madame Fluffball, Ninja, Cristiano Ronaldo the Cat).
I live in a small town north of Chicago and am blessed with the best of both worlds. Flyover country is not without its charms!
My obsessions: Britbox; Idris Elba; BBC classics featuring ANY Detective Chief Inspector…; Scottish accents, cows, and highlands; East London; Musee Rodin; New Hampshire lakes; strategy and game theory; crosswords and Connections puzzles; live performances; pasta; and loooooong phone calls.
You can find me walking to Lake Michigan in my favorite baseball cap, trying to convince my sons to play tennis with me, or going out for coffee with my best mates.
A Blue Devil and A Wildcat
I grew up in northern NJ as a textbook middle child (Ha!) and our family moved to LA when I was 15. I had the good fortune of getting an amazing education making me both a “Blue Devil” (B. A., Economics With Distinction, cum laude, Duke University) and a “Wildcat” (MBA, cum laude, Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University).
My formative professional experiences prior to FT coaching / strategic advisory work were: as a commercial banker with The Northern Trust Company, as a management consultant with The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), as a seconded consultant to Baylor College of Medicine / Methodist General / Texas Children’s Hospital, as a director of strategy with Bayer AG, and as a business strategy consultant in private practice.
My FT coaching / strategic advisory work focuses on building long-term relationships with clients and supporting them in different ways throughout their careers. I am a big believer in the power of unlocking opportunities by getting clear about what you really want to do and having a support network (including a coach) to achieve it. I am trained and certified in many coaching modalities which enable me to offer cutting edge, research-backed programs that empower people to adopt the capabilities of positive intelligence and high performance in their leadership.
Giving Back
I give back through volunteering and board service and am involved with organizations that want to promote cross-cultural understanding (United Planet) and global innovation (TWIN: The World’s Innovation Network).

Aside from my beloved and totally awesome family and friends, what I am most grateful for is the clients I get to partner with who inspire me every day with their courage, smarts, tenacity, humor, grace, innovation, and ambition. Biggest hugs to them all!
